Daniel Smith
Principal
Daniel joined Taylor Fry in our founding year, 1999. He has more than 25 years’ experience in general insurance and injury schemes, including Appointed Actuary roles in Australia and New Zealand.
Daniel was the actuary advising the government-commissioned Hanks review of Victorian workers compensation legislation in 2008. He has also conducted analysis of transport accidents in Victoria to help improve road safety campaigns.
He was a member of the Actuaries Institute Council from 2009 to 2014 and president in 2014.
Daniel has spoken on a range of themes, such as domestic building insurance, natural disasters, asbestos and risk management.
