Ross has more than 20 years’ experience in consulting and corporate roles within the financial services sector. He specialises in general insurance and has advised clients across the full spectrum of actuarial work, including Appointed Actuary engagements, liability valuations, pricing analysis, strategic direction and providing analytical insights.
He works collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver tailored business solutions, based on robust actuarial analysis. He has a deep understanding of the New Zealand general insurance sector and the role it plays in managing risk and providing financial support to the country. Ross says:
Using data analysis to provide clear and concise advice on risk is vital to ensure insurance remains an effective component in a resilient economy.
Ross was President of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries, 2020-2022. He is the convenor of the Society’s Professional Standards Committee and is a member of the Society’s General Insurance Committee.
Before joining Taylor Fry in 2016, Ross led the personal lines pricing team at IAG NZ and consulted with PwC and Aon Consulting in London, Auckland and Wellington.
